The Nenagh Municipal District of Tipperary County Council invites applications from eligible groups for funding under the Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) 2026, an initiative supported by IPB Insurance and local authorities nationwide.
A total allocation of €20,000 is available within the Nenagh Municipal District to support Tidy Towns groups, Residents’ Associations and other voluntary community environmental groups in delivering projects that enhance the local environment and support climate action.
Eligible Applicants
- Tidy Towns groups and similar voluntary community organisations
- Residents’ Associations and environmental groups
- Groups must be registered with their local Public Participation Network (PPN)
Scheme Objectives
Funding is available for projects that promote:
- Biodiversity and pollinator-friendly initiatives
- Tree planting and urban greening
- Waste reduction, recycling and reuse initiatives
- Water conservation measures
- Climate action and sustainability awareness
- Community environmental improvement works
Scheme Criteria
- All applications must include a description of the proposed project and outline its environmental benefits and community impact.
- Applicants are encouraged to work in partnership with other local stakeholders such as schools, community groups, sports clubs or voluntary organisations to maximise community impact.
- Funding will be awarded based on environmental impact, community benefit, feasibility and innovation.
- The minimum funding available to each applicant is €1,000 and the maximum is €5,000.
- Successful projects must be completed by the 30th September 2026 and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme.
- The decision of Nenagh Municipal District is final.
